2018 Resolutions

Now here is something that I rarely do, make New Year’s resolutions. But, I want to make this a great year and Jake and I have a lot of great things coming up that it is the perfect year to start something new. So I am going to make a few overarching resolutions, and then I am going to set a ton of smaller goals to achieve throughout the year. The reason that I have decided to do it this way is because I see resolutions as something much more than a goal. To me a resolution is something that needs a lot of time and attention. For me, a goal is something I can tick off of a to do list. Anyway, that is my reasoning. And here we go!

  • The biggest thing that I want to work on throughout 2018 is to genuinely be more happier in life. I tend to be an incredibly negative person and I let things eat at me far¬†too¬†much, so my goal is to slowly work on having a more positive outlook on life in general. I want to actually leave my house and do more things outside. I tend to get in moods where I get off of work (I work from home) and move to the couch and then move from the couch to bed at 7:00 pm. That is no life. So, even if I am doing things on my own or with just Atticus, I am going to be better at getting outside and living life.
  • In 2018 Jake and I are going to get healthy. Yes, I know this is the stereotypical resolution, but I really mean GET HEALTHY. Yeah, I want to¬†lose¬†weight; that is a given. But, I want to do it in the right way. I want to be active and eat better. Most importantly, I want to focus more time on my mental health. In order to be a truly healthy individual, in my mind anyway, you have to focus on both.
  • The last of my big resolutions for the year is to actually figure out what I want to do with my life. Since I graduated in 2015, I have only been occupied with finding a job to pay my bills. I have had many ideas of what I want to do with life but have let the opinions of others sway me to take different paths. No more will I allow other people to direct my life.

So there we go. Those are my big three resolutions for 2018. What are your resolutions for the new year? Come back on Monday to see my long list of goals for the year!!!
