Disney Planning

Okay, let me share a little secret about my family. We LOVE Disney. And we are slightly obsessed with all things Disney. So, naturally we have been planning our trip to Walt Disney World for the last 2 years…I kinda wish I was exaggerating. I’m not. But to justify this crazy behavior, we have been planning with a lot of extended family. At one point we had around 30 people that were on board to go. Sadly, life happens and we are down to 11. We will not let that harm our fun though!

We all have our room reservations now. Unlike normal, we are all staying at different resorts. Jake and I are staying at Art  of Animation. Alysha and Zach are staying at the Yacht Club. Mom and Dad, Patty, Eddy, and Alicia are all staying at the Grand Floridian. Pat and Leigha are staying at Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary.

We are planning our meals out now because we can make reservations 180 days out.  Actually, we have even made our dining reservations already. That is insane to me that we are already so close to the trip. My mom and I went online to make our breakfast and dinner reservations for our whole group. Unfortunately, since we have such a large group, we had to split into two groups for dinner. But they are all within 5 or 10 minutes of each other, so hopefully we will be able to sit near each other. Here is a list of where we are going for dinner:

Sunday: ‘Ohana

Monday: Tiffins

Tuesday: Artist Point

Wednesday: The Hollywood Brown Derby

Thursday: Yachtsman

Friday: California Grill

For now, that is all we can plan. We are able to make our fast pass reservations at 60 days out. I will share ALL the photos and reviews in a few posts after the trip! Bye for now 🙂

Stationary Haul

I love office supplies. No idea why, but I always have. My favorite part of going back to school growing up was getting to go supply shopping with my mom. I have always been super picky about the types of things that I like to use to be organized. As I have gotten older, I have enjoyed getting new stationary type items as well as organizational things. This is especially the case since I have graduated college and have friends that live in different states. I love getting cute little cards and note paper to send out to them. The only bad thing about loving office supplies, they are never cheap.

Luckily, Nationwide offered us a lovely bonus this year, so I was able to order some new stationary! I follow a lot of UK bloggers and vloggers and I hear amazing things about paperchase. I placed a very large order a couple weeks ago and it is FINALLY here!

I ordered a bunch of birthday cards because there are a few birthdays coming us and you can never have too many birthday cards.

I order a few packs of general note cards that I like to use to send little notes to friends and family out of state.

I got a few different notebooks. I am looking to start a bullet style journal and I though these would be nice.

I also grabbed one large notebook and a set of pens. Let’s be honest, you can never have too many!!

January Favorites

There is really no order to this list this month. These are some of the things that I have been loving this month. I feel like this month has been really hectic, but nothing has actually happened. You know that feeling? Anyway, here it is!

  • Kitchen Aid
    • I absolutely LOVE my kitchen aid. So much. I think Jake is enjoying it too.
  • The Greatest Showman
    • Jake and I finally went to go see this the other day and omg it was so good. I fell in love with this movie and I cannot wait until it comes out on DVD. I have also been listening to the soundtrack on repeat. It is fantastic.
  • Harry Potter
    • I have had the chance to fall back in love with some Harry Potter novels. I am re-reading the series this month and it has reminded me just how much I love these books. Especially Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix. I tend to forget about these two because the movies are not my favorite, so I forget that the books are lovely. I love that reading these books again gives me the same feelings that it did the first time.
  • LuLaRoe
    • My mother introduced me to lula a few months ago and I basically live in their clothing now. We are having a party this weekend so check in next week for a LuLa haul!
  • Sous Vide
    • I have started using Jake’s sous vide a lot when I have been meal prepping and I LOVE how easy it is to cook all of my protein at the same time with none of the mess.
  • Minnie
    • My momma got a new puppy this month and she is the sweetest little dog ever! I am loving spending time with her and letting her get to know all of us. She is a rescue and had a terrible life before coming to us, so it is great to be able to make her life better.

Some of my Favorite Books

Anyone who knows me, knows how much I absolutely adore reading and finding new books. I am definitely one of those people who walks into a book store and feels bad leaving without buying anything. The most recent time this happened was a couple weeks ago when Jake and I were out Christmas shopping and we went into Barnes & Noble and Jake had walked through the whole store and I had barely looked at the first floor. He looks at me and asks me if I want anything. My response was that there were a lot of things I wanted but I had no money so it was better that we leave. It majorly sucked.

But anyway, I wanted to share with you my favorite books of all time. So picture me sitting by a fire sharing some good books, because I totally am!

1) Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen

So anytime someone asks me what my favorite book is, this is always my response. I absolutely adore this novel and I read it at least once a year. Most of the time I read it 2 or 3 times. I seriously cannot get enough of this book.

2) The entire Harry Potter Series By J.K. Rowling

This whole series is absolutely fantastic. I cannot even count the number of times that I have read these books. (I am actually reading them again right now!) Like most people, this series has stuck with me since I was a kid. I think I was in third or fourth grade when I first started reading them and I fell in love with the characters and the plot. If you haven’t read it, you seriously should.

3) Cassandra Clare

Okay, I know this is an author, but she has three different series that I LOVE. My most favorite out of the three is The Infernal Devices Series. Next is The Mortal Instruments and last, but surely not least, is The Dark Artifices. And I cannot wait until The Last Hours series is published. Yes, this is another young adult fantasy series. I cannot help myself. It is just so good. The plot keeps you engaged and I have loved living in this world while I read these novels. They transport me so completely into another world and allows me to escape my reality. This is another series that I have read multiple times.

4) The Giver by Lois Lowry

I first read this book when I was in sixth (I think) grade. It was part of our assigned reading in middle school and given how short it is, I think I read it in 2 or 3 days tops. And that was slow for me. I think this book might have stirred my later love of dystopian novels… This book has stuck with me since the first time I read it and I think that is because of how well it shows that even when everything is thought to be perfect, there is still something to be said for being different and unique. I think it also shows that there is no such thing as a perfect society.

5) To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee

Another assigned reading book that has always stuck with me. This one I read freshman year of highschool. This book has such a powerful message that will NEVER get old. Especially in today’s society. I wish that was not as true as it is, but such is life.

6) The Hunger Games Series by Suzanne Collins

This series. I cannot say enough good things about it. I absolutely loved it. This, much like the other series listed above, allowed me to leave reality and live in another world. This series also resonates with society today. The characters in this series are incredibly lovable and relatable. This is another series that I can read any time.

Some Books That I Have Read This Year:

1) Born A Crime by Trevor Noah

This. I cannot say enough good things about this book. It gives such an eye-opening view into how life was while Trevor Noah grew up and all of the terrible things that he had to go through growing up. Naturally, it has many points that will keep you laughing, even though in reality it truly is not funny. I had that realization many times while reading this. I would find myself laughing out loud at the way that Trevor Noah described something and then actually think about the context and realize how terrible it really was. If you love Trevor Noah like I do, this is a great book to read.

2) Persuasion by Jane Austen

I have been meaning to read this book for years. Actual years. I finally picked it up and read it this year after watching one of my sorority sister’s YouTube videos, (mrsmargaretrose is her YouTube) Best Books of 2017. It was really good. Not quite as good as Pride and Prejudice for me, but it will definitely remain on my bookshelf.

3) Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day

This series was recommended to me by one of my friends that I worked with at the library. I am unashamed to admit that I totally devoured this series. I think I read them all in two weeks, maybe less. They were really good, if you like romance novels that is.
