So I have been absolutely terrible about taking pictures when Jake has cooked dinner lately. Mainly because our kitchen is tiny and I tend to get in his way… Oh well. I do have some great photos of Jake cooking at my mom’s with my cousins. My cousin is super interesting in cooking and it was a great opportunity for him to cook with Jake. It was really great to watch them interact with each other and my family, as usual, loved the meal!
I also have a couple pictures of Jake making biscuits for our New Year’s Day Brunch. They were delicious and paired so well with his gravy.
We have had some great meals lately though, even if I don’t have any pictures of it. I got Jake an immersion circulator, or Sous Vide, for Christmas and he loves it. For those of you that don’t know what that is, don’t worry, a year ago I had no clue! Basically it is used for cooking food at a precise temperature in a water bath. So you put the protein in a sealed bag and then put it in the water and it cooks at the temperature set on the Sous Vide. Lately we have had ribeyes and pork chops cooked in it so far. Both were fantastic.
